XV -Popular Culture MIXTAPE REVIEW

XV - POPULAR CULTURE
4.5 our of 5

XV is one of the most underrated artists out right now in my opinion. He combines great lyrics with superb production on his music and still gets slept on. His previous mixtape “Zero Heroes” was a great piece of work which should have pushed him to super stardom but still was bypassed by many. His latest project demands your attention.

“Popular Culture” demonstrates XV’s craft at near perfection with no real let downs, one of the rare projects you can listen to from beginning to end. Each track references something from pop culture, most of us will get the references but there are some that there will be an age gap for. Each track was cleverly made and is very entertaining to listen to. Covering a wide range of topics while still staying within the theme of the project.

Songs you definitely have to check out are “Andy Warhol”, “Her Favorite Song”, “Wonkavator”, “Jedi Night” and “Aaahh! Real Monsters”. Although you will enjoy them all.

If XV happens to read this, keep up the good work and if this is any indicator of what the album will sound like then we are all in for a treat. All you other rappers out there, take notes! This is what your albums should be like, no filler tracks, just good music!

 Stay Fresh!
