The Good, The Bad & The Nasty: Rita Ora Meet & Greet in Portland, OR

As you know by now myself and the Way2hott crew love music and always looking out for new artists that are making big moves. Thanks to my radio contact we got a chance to check out a private performance from one of my favorite up and coming artists, Rita Ora. For all you out there, she is as talented and she is beautiful. One of the most appealing things is how humble and down to earth she was.

Don’t know who Rita Ora is? You must be living under a rock or should I say Roc (pun intended!). Rita is the 21 year old British artist signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label. She is currently blazing the charts with “R.I.P” and “How We Do” in U.S. and U.K. She has been working on her debut album for the last two years, drawing influences from Gwen Stefani, Aaliyah, Beyonce, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen, Sade and David Bowie. As anyone knows, Jay-Z takes time to develop his artists. Such approach has lead to the success of other Roc Nation artists like J. Cole and Melanie Fiona.

While at the Wild 107.5/ Z100 private concert, Rita performed acoustic versions of “How We Do (Party & Bull Shit)” and “R.I.P.” She also announced that “R.I.P.” will be her second U.S. single which features U.K. artist Tinie Tempah, but stated the U.S. release will include a special surprise guest. One can wonder who that could be, perhaps Jay-Z or Drake? Anyways, she is definitely one to watch this year as she takes off into stardom.
